Ruimte maken voor andere ervaringen

Taal: Nederlands.

Connecting with our humanness through empathy

Language: English.

For whom: Everyone.

Information: We all share the same universal human needs, no matter where we were born, what color our skin is or what gender we feel we belong to. It is a shared ground of our humanness. Empathy is an inherent human ability to connect with each other’s experience, even when the experience is expressed in a way that might make it hard for others to hear or connect. Empathy enables us to connect with the deepest needs of our own and of others which then makes it possible to create solutions for our problems that works for all and restores, strengthens and deepen our connection. In this workshop, we will be looking at how empathy can support us for hearing our deepest longings (needs) and connect with the longings of others without going into the win-lose paradigm.

Praten over kleur? Ja, graag!

Taal: Nederlands.

We’ll offer learning on Privilege Fragility, Individual and Collective Responsibility and where we are on the spectrum of this plus Conscious and Unconscious Privilege. We’ll include interactivity via the CHAT box, Breakout Rooms, Meditation and feedback in the whole group. We’ll pose questions that invite discussion and deeper exploration.

Privileges and power in the service of togetherness

Language: English.

For whom: Everyone.

Information: We may all have heard of the words power and privileges in many different contexts. You might wonder what they have got to do in a workshop about communication. Every time we open our mouth or hear the words someone is saying or even every time we make a choice (and we make a choice every second!) we do this with the influences of the power&privileges we have or we don’t have. Even though the elements of power&privileges are embedded into our culture, hence invisible, their impacts on us and others are visible. In this workshop we would like to learn more about and get more aware of the power&privileges in and around us for being able to mobilise them in a way that brings more peace, equality and care to the world.

Ontelbare identiteiten

Taal: Nederlands.

Sunday 30 May: Social change

Change for beyond today and for all

Language: English.

For whom: Everyone.

Information: In this workshop, we will be looking at how we can contribute to a long term, sustainable and inclusive societal change as individuals and groups/communities. There are, for sure, so much that we can do as individuals and it indeed starts with one person most of the time and spreads to hundreds. As we come together, we have more potential to create a bigger impact on the change. In addition to this, we would also like to look at how to extend our field of influence to make the changes more sustainable for next generations and also how to include everyone's voices and needs into the changes we work for.

Social change starts with me

Language: English.

For whom: Everyone.

Information: We’ll invite people’s reflections on themselves, their immediate circles of influence and the systems they are enrolled in. We’ll invite them to speak about and name their feelings about social systems, what needs they want to meet and what they want to change. We’ll develop the question of how systems we are enrolled in are harmful for those with less privilege. We’ll explore who is included and who is excluded from existing groups, how we are or are not able to listen to others, widening our empathy, accepting feelings of shame and guilt, empathy for what we have not done, our sense of responsibility and shame. We’ll ask what is our resistance for connecting with others and what is our fluidity in meeting others with openness. We’ll invite life stories and how we hear or don’t hear others’ disadvantages. We intend to use CHAT, Breakout Rooms, Meditative reflections, writing/ drawing, and sharing in the main group to include everyone’s voices.
